Our Future 

Beth Am Embarks on Amazing Makeover

 We have embarked on an extensive, three-phase makeover of our synagogue, which is being implemented in stages.

 Phase One is aimed at improving what already exists at Beth Am.

 Phase Two will add the educational facility needed to serve the next generation at CBA.

 Phase Three will focus on increasing the size of the sanctuary and the kitchen, two of our most important rooms.

 Once completed, this makeover should provide for all the needs of our growing synagogue – the oldest continuing         congregation in Seminole County.

 The details of our Three-Phase Enhancement and Expansion Project are as follows:

 

PHASE 1:  $150,000

 OUTSIDE  

  • Create driveway from Line Drive, across from Nova (to allow future building on current driveway)

  • Relocate dumpster

  • Signage for Sand Lake Road and Line Drive entrances

 INSIDE

 Sanctuary:

         Lights

  •   Reconfigure bima:

  • Create accessible steps, with shallower climb and broader landing area

  • Increase depth in front of Ark

  • Update speaker wiring, etc.

  •   Replace Sanctuary doors and/or replace handles to improve accessibility

           Paint

 Social Hall:

                Paint

          Remove smoke filters from ceiling and bingo monitors from walls

Replace ceiling grid and tiles with updated materials

  • Replace Social Hall doors and/or replace handles to improve accessibility

  • New chairs, round tables (NOTE:  When funds are available within phase 1)

 Bathrooms: 

  • Replace cabinets with accessible sink area

  • Replace doors and/or handles to improve accessibility

  • Update mirrors and lighting

  • Replace toilets as needed

  • Replace stall dividers

 Lobby: 

  • Replace entrance doors and/or replace handles for more welcoming accessibility

 

PHASE 2:  $750,000

 EDUCATION FACILITY 

  • 6,000 square foot modular building (on current driveway) or rental of off-site Education Center

  • 8-10 rooms (classrooms, meetings rooms)

  • Bathrooms

  • Playground

  • Remove Portable

 

INSIDE CURRENT BUILDING 

  • Reconfigure current school space

  • Education office

  • Meeting room

  • Social Hall extension


 PHASE 3:  $600,000  

  • Increase Sanctuary size

  • Install proper ramp for accessibility

  • New Social Hall flooring

  • Change configuration of bathrooms

  • Increase kitchen size

     Total estimated cost:  $1.5 million
